awesome Zebra Vespa LX
Published on November 20th, 2006 in accessories and scooter seat cover sightings. 0 Comments
Just when I think I’ve seen the coolest scooter ever, along comes another one! In this case, it’s a Vespa LX that Mark P. embellished for his wife. Using a scooter seat cover™ and vinyl decals from Motoglyphs, Mark created a wonderous custom Zebra Vespa LX. Awesome.
Important note to Yahoo! and Comcast mail users
Published on October 27th, 2006 in company. 0 CommentsI can’t fix this on my end, so you have to help me out. If you have a Yahoo! email address or Comcast email address you will NOT receive replies from me. It’s not personal – for whatever reason, those emails sent from my scooterseatcovers.com account to Yahoo! and Comcast emails lately have been consistently timing out and bouncing back to me. I found this out the hard way after a couple of customers have written repeatedly – eventually getting a little teed off – and I have absolutely no way of reaching them. You can’t imagine how frustrating this is! Well, maybe you can, if you’ve written and I haven’t replied. Anyway, I’ve tried writing to folks using another one of my email addresses, but so far no replies (but also no bounces).
Make sure I’m in your Contacts list in your Yahoo! mail. Make sure your account is set up to accept my email address through whatever interface you use with Comcast (sorry, I’m not familiar with it).
You can place an order using a Yahoo! or Comcast email address, but in the comments field or within your emails, please give me an alternate way in which to reach you, such as another email address (non Yahoo!) or a phone number and a time when you can be reached.
Thank you!
scooter seat cover auctions for a good cause – starting at $1
Published on October 17th, 2006 in ebay and specials. 0 Comments
I’ve posted a few scooter seat cover auctions on ebay, with starting bids at only $1 each. I’ve also slotted 30% of each final auction winning bid to go to the New York LifeLab, a non-profit organization launched by my old friend Jodi Sax, a cancer survivor.
Its mission statement: The NY LifeLab is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping young adult cancer survivors discover what they would like to do with their lives after treatment, and providing them with tools to get there. We offer free support groups, programs and activities for cancer survivors in their 20s and 30s in the New York City area.
As I say in the auction, I’m very proud of all Jodi is doing to help survivors of cancer re-establish their lives after going through such an ordeal, and I hope you’ll help me give some support to her wonderful organization.
does your scooter seat cover match your cat?

While I was out in Idaho, I stayed with a couple of scooter friends, Omily and Arnie, and one night Arnie went out into the garage and found their kitten Fanny sitting on the Ruckus in the dark. We suspect she just knew that she matched the seat cover perfectly, and was just waiting for someone to come out to the garage with a camera.
The new Genuine Buddy seat covers are on their way!! I’ve extended the pre-order special for ModernBuddy.com members to everyone – save $5! – until October 8. Production will start after October 14. Check out the page here.
Yes, I’m back, even though you may not know it because it took a couple days to get my “away” email auto-reply to turn off, then I had to get a new computer to update the web site (long story). I got back from Vermont a little later than expected due to some family health issues, but I’m sewing my butt off to catch up on your orders and get them out the door before I leave again from October 7 -14.
Oh, and I’m sorry the site looks wiggy. I’m trying to fix it!
A note to customers: I will be gone from Sept 12 – Sept 26.
I will do my best to get all orders placed by Sept 5 out the door
before I go. You are welcome to place an order during this time
– but please remember, IF YOUR ORDER IS PLACED AFTER SEPT 5 OR WHILE
I’M GONE, IT WON’T BE FINISHED for a week or two after I return,
depending on the number of orders waiting for me when I get back.
I will do my best to respond to emails while I’m gone, but I’m going
to also try to actually have a couple days off (days off? what’s
that?). I’ll also be on the road during the second week of October
– more on that later! - Crystal
I had posted over on Vespaway about Nuclia Waste’s new glow in the dark scooter. Yesterday, Mike from coolightwest.com posted a comment about his company – who happens to make glow-in-the-dark fabric. Now, keep in mind, I haven’t seen this fabric in person, so I don’t know for sure how well it would work for a scooter seat cover. But given that the site pictures items such as jackets and life preservers made from the fabric, it’s probably a good candidate. One drawback: it’s pricey. But still, wouldn’t it be awesome to have a seat cover that glows in the dark? I’m going to see what I can do to get a sample. photo from coolightwest.com
