Just when you thought you had all the necessary scooter accessories imaginable, along comes Skinners. Well, I shouldn’t really put it that way – Skinners have been around about the same amount of time as my scooterseatcovers.com company, but we only just found out about each other recently.
Paul, the president and CEO of Skinners, found my site when looking for fabric for his motorcycle helmet covers. Just by chance, we use the same fabric for many of our respective designs. So if you’re one of my customers with a zebra print Honda Ruckus seat cover, or red flames Vespa ET cover, you can head over to buyskinners.com and most likely find a matching helmet cover for your shorty/half helmet. There are also a lot of other cool designs, like the “mudflap girl,” duo-tone covers, and more.
Prices start at $14.99 and are available for a variety of helmets. Search for your helmet style on the site, then click through to those helmet covers that are made in that style. All are shorty/half helmet covers, some are for novelty helmets, like beanies and non-DOT approved jockey styles, and some are for DOT-approved helmets in jockey, German, and DOT-with-visor models.

I got the official word from one of my wholesalers yesterday. Blue camo fabric may be available in three to four months, but I’m guessing we shouldn’t hold our breath. In the meantime, those looking for cool blue fabric should check out the blue and black cow, blue hibiscus (while it lasts!) or blue flames. Remember, too, that I can order other fabrics that I might not have in stock.

What are the chances of my making a Vespa LX seat cover out of pink bubble fur the same week the Head of Household on Big Brother All Stars has a matching pink bubble fur bedspread?!?

Many people have written to ask for blue camoflage and grey camoflage, and sadly, none of my suppliers have these fabrics any more. Technically the blue camo is on backorder, but I’m not getting the most optimistic feeling about it. I have a small sampling of regular ol’ green and yellow camo if anyone is interested in receiving a sample, and of course, there’s always pink camo if you’re daring. The most popular fabric of the summer – blue hibiscus fleece – is nearly the end of its availability, too, I’m told, so if you’ve been eyeing it for your scooter seat cover, now’s the time to order!

I know, I know, there are still some old graphics on the newly designed site. The trouble with being a one-person company is that it’s hard to get everything done. With temps in the triple digits, it’s no wonder people want their seat covers as soon as possible, so production has been my first priority.
